There was no complementary water or even coffee on most of the hotels that I've been they have complimentary water coffee tea and condiments like creamer sugar. The room is just fine the comfort room is average.
This hotel is in the heart of Bocagrande. You have a lot of food and bar options. Everything within walking distance. The hotel breakfast is great. The pool is a bit small but you have the beach literally across the street. The views from the hotel balcony are breathtaking at sunset.
Sorry I didn't take many photos of the hotel but the video is the view from the balcony. The hotel is the perfect location for bars, restaurants etc. The staff are friendly, breakfast was OK and the rooms are clean and spacious. For the price I paid I am happy. I travelled solo and felt safe.
It's perfectly located in Boca Grande, very close to the beach and to a lot of stores and restaurants. The rooms are very spacious and are cleaned daily. The pool is nice, but sadly there's no sun in the afternoon. The breakfast is very nice too. Every day is almost the same, but the food tastes good. The only downside is that it's right next to the busy main street, which can be quite noisy. If you have trouble sleeping with noise, this can be a problem.
The Atlantic Lux Hotel is well located in the Boca Grande section of Cartagena. My room had a balcony and a view of the ocean. The staff here are incredible and made my stay pleasurable. I took off 1 star because the room could use a bit of updating. All and all a great value for the money.
Its a comfortable hotel has everything you may want or need for a hotel nice pool, nice bed, a patio good showers even a casino downstairs only gets one off perfect due to no premium channels on the tv, and now since pandemic they no longer have buffet style breakfast which i loved last time I stayed here, and since my wife got sick one day because of something bad she ate we stayed in all day rcn wasnt cutting it . Good value hotel in Bocagrande nice, comfortable, modern, clean room. buffet breakfast and nice pool to relax in. There's a Casino in the building and many bars and restaurants nearby and 2 minute walk to the beach.
I am accustomed to staying in American and Canadian hotels, so I am judging this hotel from that perspective. A one line summary would be as follows: “This hotel is a great value for the money if you are looking for a very central location beside the main beach, but do not expect a lot of extra features.” Here are the pros – It is extremely centrally located. You are a 3 minute walk away from the main beach. There is a convenience store a short walk away. There are tons of restaurants, both chain restaurants, and independent restaurants. There is a casino next door if you like that sort of thing. The price was very competitive with other similar hotels. There is a swimming pool and patio area with lounge chairs. There was a free buffet breakfast and the eggs were excellent. The area appears to be extremely safe to walk at night. It is easy to get a taxi quickly. The room was very clean. The room has a refrigerator, safe, and television in the room. The wi-fi was excellent. Here are the cons – The pool is very small. The pool is often in the shade, so the water is colder than it should be for Cartagena. You cannot lounge in the pool because you will get cold. There are only 4 pool check lounge chairs. There are only two elevators and they are kind of slow. There was no coffee maker in my room. The safe was already locked so I could not use it unless I had an employee open it for me. The breakfast is lacking any meat like bacon, sausage, etc. I had to ask for toilet paper for my room from the front desk. They delivered the daily fresh towels to my room at 7 pm and I was in the middle of something with my wife, if you know what I mean. The television is terrible because you only get about 8 to 10 channels. The front desk does not speak English very well, but my wife is from Colombia, so this was not a barrier for me. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would, but only if the price was right, and I was looking for a “beach holiday” rather than a “lounge around the pool” holiday. If you are looking for features that I have listed as “pro” and can live with the “cons” then this hotel is an excellent budget choice for you.
